Who's Shihub?
I grew up in Darwin, spent some years living in Adelaide before settling in Sydney.
My friends, family and all those I have crossed paths with would describe me as an outgoing character who genuinely loves connecting and socialising with all types of people.
You could say I was raised that way thanks to my Bengali-Australian family who connected with so many people during my childhood.
They were welcoming, loved getting together, socialising, telling stories, and more importantly loved celebrating together.
I'm partial to a cold brew on a summers day or a fine glass of red or two on a winters night. Of course, good company with a hint of background music has to be a part of the set up too.
I love public speaking and even from a young age, I have always felt most comfortable on stage. Whether that's as a school captain, university college campus leader, captain and coach of a sporting team, or a performer at a karaoke bar.
My favourite song to sing to at Karaoke is, Queen - Don't Stop Me Now.
I started as a wedding MC back in 2018 and managed to get a few appearances here and there - including those with large receptions up to 500 guests. It wasn't until a friend raised the idea of becoming a Marriage Celebrant in 2020 where the idea felt second to none.
The idea of love is wonderful because it gives you hope in the form of butterflies, the concept of celebrating love is exciting and the motivation of two lovers with unique stories choosing to be bonded by marriage or commitment is beautiful.
Love deserves to be celebrated and I for one love honouring love, and what a better way to be a part of a memorable day than celebrating those memorable moments.
Especially those subtle moments that cannot be scripted.
Every story is different, and your ceremony deserves to be uniquely told.
